Graduation Ceremony
Wheels began rolling around a few weeks ago which involved planning and a bird’s eye for details. The graduation days conducted on 23 July 2022 and 25 July 2022 showcased the emotional attachments among the teachers, students, and their family members. It was a time of celebrations, memories and expressions, as the future unfold with a myriad of promises.
2016 – 20 Batch
The Graduation Ceremony of Vidya for 2016-20 batch students was held in the College Auditorium on 23 July 2022 at 10.30 am. Dr Santosh Prasannan (Chairman, VICT) presided over the proceedings and directed the rituals. Dr Saji CB ( Principal), delivered the welcome address and introduced the Chief Guest.
The presence of Dr Mohanan Kunnummal (Hon. VC, Kerala University of Health Science) as chief guest enlightened the occasion with his inspiring words of wisdom. He added “Engineering graduates have endless opportunities in the field of health sciences”. He also opined that “the students are obliged to render the academic education provided by the various universities, as services to the country”. Dr. Sudha Balagopalan (Dean Academics) read out the names of the toppers of each department who received the degree and certificates from the Chief Guest. Dr Saji CB handed over the memento Dr Mohanan.
Mr Suresh Lal (Executive Director, VICT), Er G. Mohanachandran (Honorary Advisor , VICT), Er K G Sukumaran (EC Member,VICT) Mr K K Thilakan (EC Member, VICT), Mr P N Unnirajan IPS (Retd) (Director-Administration) distributed the certificate to the students. Dr K B M Namboothiripadu (Professor Emeritus), Dr P Prathapchandran Nair (former Principal, VAST), Mr Suresh Karun (former PTA President), Ms Nisha Valsan Nair (PTA President), Dr Jiby Jose ( Head, App Sc Dept) and Mr Gireesh Kumar P C (Librarian) awarded the certificates to the graduating students.Every heads of the department called out the names of the students of their respective departments who were awarded with the certificates.
Students of B Tech, M Tech and MCA programmes who have completed their courses in the year 2020 along with their family members participated in the ceremony. Ms Divya K V (Asst Prof, CSE Dept) and Ms Roshni Vijay (Asst Prof, CE Dept) served as the conveners of the event.
The auditorium was packed with more than 1750 participants making the function a memorable one. The national anthem was rendered followed by the return of the academic procession with the dignitaries.
2017 – 21 Batch
A day of celebration when we laud all the hard work and efforts that have helped our students emerge as successful engineering graduates.
Vidya, commemorated its Graduation Ceremony for the batch of 2017-21 on 23 July 2022 at 2.30 pm. The occasion was graced by the presence of Mr S D Shibulal (Co-founder, former Board member and CEO of Infosys Ltd, Axilor Ventures) as chief guest . The program started with an invocation song followed by the welcome speech and introduction of the Chief Guest by Dr Saji C B (Principal). The President of the event, Dr Santosh Prasannan (Chairman, VICT) declared the graduation ceremony open.
In his Graduation address, Mr S D Shibulal emphasized on the importance of lifelong learning for success, dealing of uncertainties in life, the importance of making decisions and the courage and conviction to stay committed. He also added that it was imperative to constantly reinvent themselves with learning from wherever all the possible platforms. A memento was handed over to Mr S D Shibulal by the Principal.
The list of distinguished students was announced by Dr Sudha Balagopalan (Dean – Academics) and the Chief Guest awarded the certificates. The heads d of the department called out the names of the students of their respective departments .
Certificates to the graduating students were distributed by Mr Suresh Lal (Executive Director, VICT), Er G Mohanachandran (Honorary Advisor, VICT), Er K G Sukumaran (EC Member,VICT, Mr.K.K.Thilakan (EC Member, VICT) and Mr P N Unnirajan IPS (Retd) (Director-Administration). Dr K B M Namboothiripadu (Professor Emeritus), Dr P Prathapachandran Nair (former Principal, VAST), Ms Nisha Valsan Nair (PTA President), Dr Jiby Jose (Head, App Sc Dept), Mr Paul Chackola (Head Placement & Training ) and Mr Gireesh Kumar P C (Librarian) handed over the certificates to the graduating students .
Students of B Tech, M Tech and MCA programmes who have completed their courses in the year 2021 along with their family members attended the event . End of Graduation day was declared by the President of the event followed by the National Anthem and Photo Session. Ms Divya K V (Asst Prof, CSE Dept) and Ms Roshni Vijay (Asst Prof, CE Dept) served as the conveners of the function.
The ceremony with the presence more than 1800 attendees turned out to be a grand success.
2018 – 22 Batch
The energy of our students was incomparable as they greet in the most awaited event of their academic life amongst their friends, parents relatives and teachers in our college.
Vidya witnessed its 16th graduation day for the batch of 2018-22 on 25 July 2022 at 2.00 pm in the College Auditorium. Dr Saji Gopinath (Hon. VC, Kerala University of Digital Sciences, Innovation and Technology ) was invited as the Chief guest . Dr Santosh Prasannan (Chairman, VICT) declared the graduation day open. In his welcome address, Dr Saji CB ( Principal), extended a warm welcome to all invitees of the function and also introduced the Chief guest Dr Saji Gopinath.
Dr Saji Gopinath highlighted about the power of an engineer who is considered as the luckiest soul on earth with their immense power of knowledge and skill which helps to beautify the earth. Dr Saji shared the fact that when we compared the total population of the world, only thin number of population is in to engineering field . He also shared his thought to create a better world to others by engineers using their knowledge and skills . As a token of respect, a memento was presented to Dr Saji Gopinath by the Principal.

Ms Nisha Valsan Nair (PTA President), Dr.Jiby Jose ( Head, App Sc Dept), Paul Chackola (Head, Placement & Training ), Mr Gireesh Kumar P C (Librarian) and Mr Boby Peter (Asst Manager , General Administration) presented the certificates to the graduating students. This momentous ceremony drew to a close with the traditional student oath and the national anthem followed by academic procession. Mr Rajesh G R (Asso Prof, ECE Dept), Mr Anil Paul (Asst. Prof, ME Dept), Ms Fetsy K Francis (Asst. Prof, ECE Dept) and Mr Biju P V (Asso Prof, ME Dept) were the conveners of the function.
The auspicious presence of more than 2500 participants at this celebration brought us an immense amount of happiness which led the success of the event.
