Minister honors Vidya NSS Units for remarkable service in ‘Snehakoodu’ Project

Vidya NSS units continue to uphold their commitment to community development and social responsibility. The active participation and consistent efforts of our students in projects like ‘Snehakoodu’ exemplify the core values of the National Service Scheme and reflect the spirit of service that lies at the heart of Vidya 

The NSS units of Vidya received a prestigious award and a certificate of appreciation from Dr R Bindu (Minister for Higher Education and Social Justice, Government of Kerala) on 28 April 2025. The recognition was conferred during the key handover ceremony held at Irinjalakuda Municipality, acknowledging the dedicated involvement of Vidya’s NSS units in the ‘Snehakoodu’ house construction project.

Representing the NSS units of Vidya, Mr Ranjith E R (NSS Programme Officer and Asst Prof, ME Dept) attended the event along with Mrithyunjay R (NSS Volunteer Secretary,S6,EEE Dept) and Devika Mothilal (NSS Volunteer Secretary, S6, ECE Dept). They received the certificate of appreciation on behalf of the institution.

The Snehakoodu project is an initiative launched by the Hon’ble Minister for Higher Education and Social Justice in the Irinjalakuda constituency to provide housing for the homeless. The project was implemented with the cooperation of various NSS units from universities in the Thrissur-Palakkad region, and the Kodakara Sahrudaya Engineering College NSS Unit took up the responsibility of coordinating its execution.
