CE Dept conducts Placement Readiness Enhancement through Mock Interview Session

With an aim to enhance the placement readiness of final-year Civil Engineering students,a mock interview session was conducted by Mr. Vilas Sankar K.P (PhD Scholar, Environmental Sciences and Sustainable Engineering Centre (ESS), IIT Palakkad) for B.Tech final-year Civil Engineering students preparing for campus placements. The session, held on 16 December 2025, provided students with realistic exposure to placement interview scenarios, including technical questioning, HR interactions, and professional etiquette.

The session significantly contributed to enhancing students’ personal grooming, communication skills, body language, confidence, and résumé presentation. Constructive feedback offered during the mock interviews enabled students to identify their strengths and areas for improvement, thereby improving their overall interview preparedness. Such sessions play a crucial role in bridging the gap between academic learning and industry expectations, equipping students with the confidence and professionalism required to perform effectively in placement processes.

The event was organized by the Civil Engineering Association and facilitated by Dr. Abhilasha P.S. (Prof, HoD,CE Dept) along with Ms. Chithira Ajeeth (Asst Prof, CE Dept) and Mr. Kiran Babu A.R. (Asst Prof, CE Dept) and group tutors of the 2022–26 B.Tech Civil Engineering batch. The mock interview session was conducted in the students’ classroom, and their collective efforts ensured the successful execution of the event, contributing significantly to the holistic development and overall employability of the students.
