Fourth Dr. D. Balakrishnan Commemorative Lecture 2014

Vidya Academy of Science and Technology paid rich tributes to Dr. D. Balakrishnan (Founder Academic Director) on his fourth death anniversary. Dr. D Balakrishnan Commemorative Lecture was held on 16 Aug 2014, in the College Auditorium. The programme was graced by the esteemed presence of two dignitaries, Poojya Swami Bhoomanda Thirtha (Founder of Narayanashrama Thapovanam), and Dr. P Radhakrishnan (Director of PSG institute of advanced studies, Coimbatore). Dr. Sudha Balagopalan (Principal, VAST) welcomed all the dignitaries and attendees to the function. Er. G Mohanachandran (Executive Director, VICT) delivered the presidential address. Dr. P Pratapachandran Nair (Professor Emeritus) introduced the chief guests to the audience. Poojya Swami Bhoomanda Thirtha lighted the lamp and inaugurated the function officially. All the dignitaries then paid floral tributes to Dr. D. Balakrishnan.

It was followed by a series of commemorative lectures, Poojya Swami Bhoomanda Thirtha and Dr. P Radhakrishnan. Poojya Swami Bhoomanda Thirtha shared his ideas about knowledge, culture, intelligence and refinement of life. Dr. P Radhakrishnan delivered his views on researches for sustainable growth and the role of engineering institutions in improvement of technology.

Er. Jinto A J (President, Vidya Alumni Assocation) handed over the cheque as Alumni contribution for college activities to the Principal, Dr. Sudha Balagopalan. Dr. V N Krishnachandran (Vice-Principal, VAST) proposed the vote of thanks.
