Vyvidh ’20 Project Expo: Prize winners

The  grand techno-cultural fest of Vidya,Vyvidh ’20, was held in the vast campus of Vidya during 14 – 15 February 2020. A project expo-cum-competition had been arranged as a part of the fest for students of engineering colleges, polytechnic colleges and schools to showcase their technical skills. The expo had been divided into three categories:

  1. Avishkar: The main expo for exhibiting the works of M Tech students and of the final year B Tech and  Diploma students, held on 14 February 2020.
  2. Nirmana: A mini-expo for other B Tech and Diploma students, held on 14 February 2020.
  3. Navayuva: An expo for school students, held on 15 February 2020.

The expo was officially inaugurated by Dr Saji C B, Principal, and Mr Suresh K Karun, PTA President, by cutting the ribbon at 10.30 AM on 14 February 2020. The Principal, PTA President and Dr Sudha Balagopalan, Dean – Academics, addressed the gathering.

Avishkar

As many as 22 teams participated in Avishkar of which eight teams were from Vidya and the rest were from other engineering colleges and polytechnic colleges. A panel of six faculty members from different engineering disciplines evaluated the projects.  The details of prize winning projects are given below:

  • First Prize: E V ChargeX (Thyagaraja Polytechnic College, Alagappanagar)
  • Second Prize: Ambulance Priority in Toll Plaza (Thyagaraja Polytechnic College, Alagappanagar)
  • Third prize: Sectional Miniature of a Building (St. Mary’s Polytechnic College, Palakkad)

The prizes were sponsored by IEDC, VAST.

Nirmana

As many as 20 teams participated in the expo of which 11 teams were from Vidya and the  rest were from other engineering colleges and polytechnic colleges. A panel of six faculty members from different engineering disciplines evaluated the projects. The details of prize winning projects are given below:

  • First Prize: ManglishApp (Vidya)
  • Second Prize: Medilook (Vidya)
  • Third prize: City Parking System (St. Mary’s Polytechnic College, Palakkad)

The prizes were sponsored by IE (India), VAST Chapter.

Navayuva

The expo was conducted to promote the knowledge and skills of school students in the areas of science and technology. As many as nine teams from various schools in and around Thrissur participated in the expo. A panel of three faculty members evaluated the projects. The details of prize winning projects are given below:

  • First Prize: Smart Home (Nirmala Matha Central School, Thrissur)
  • Second Prize: One Way Breaker (G.S.R.V.H.S.S.,  Velur)
  • third prize: Jarvis Visual Assistant (Vidya Vihar Central School, Kakkassery) and CARDRIC (Harisree Vidya Nidhi School, Thrissur)
