AIML Dept organizes online webinar “ChatGPT: Revolutionizing Conversational AI – Applications, Opportunities and Challenges”

ChatGPT is a natural language processing tool driven by Artificial Intelligence technology that allows the user  to have human-like conversations and much more with the chatbot. The language model can answer questions and assist with tasks like composing emails, essays, and code.

To bring out  an overview of the same, the Dept of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AIML) organized an online webinar “ChatGPT: Revolutionizing Conversational AI – Applications, Opportunities and Challenges” on 03 April  2023 through the online platform, Google Meet.

Dr Sunitha C (Head, AIML Dept) welcomed the guest speaker, Ms Swedha Balasubramanian, who has 6 years of experience in the IT industry. Currently, she is working as a Senior Associate in the Intelligent Automation department at PwC India. Prior to joining PwC, Swedha worked in AstraZeneca and BigTapp Analytics Chennai. Ms Swedha completed her MTech in Computational Linguistics from Government Engineering College, Sreekrishnapuram, Palakkad. Ms Swedha is an alumna of Vidya ( 2011-2015, B Tech CSE Dept). Her immense knowledge in Conversational AI made her the perfect candidate to conduct the webinar.

The webinar started with an introduction to Conversational AI and its various applications, such as chatbots, virtual assistants, and customer service. Ms Swedha then talked about the development of ChatGPT and its ability to understand and respond to human-like conversations.Ms Swedha emphasized the potential of ChatGPT in revolutionizing the field of Conversational AI, and its ability to provide personalized responses to users.

The webinar was informative and engaging, and the audience had the opportunity to ask questions at the end of the session. Higher Secondary students from various schools attended the webinar. The S2 (AIML) students from Vidya raised many queries about the use of Conversational AI and ChatGPT, and Swedha provided insights into its potential applications.

In conclusion, the online webinar on “ChatGPT: Revolutionizing Conversational AI – Applications, Opportunities and Challenges” was well received. The guest speaker, Ms Swedha Balasubramanian, offered valuable perspectives on the development and potential applications of ChatGPT. The webinar provided valuable information for the higher secondary students.
