Vidya put forward essential supports to the deserving children by conducting a wide range of improvement activities under the auspices of IEEE Smart Village (ISV) which are adapted to meet needy communities.Dr Sudha Balagopalan (Dean Academics & Professor, EEE Dept) is co-ordinating the activities in the college.
To deliver the profuse information of a choice of newly growing and technical prospects to the less privileged children, ISV is extending their attempts towards Odisha to provide a level playing field for children with respect to Vocational Awareness. In this ISV, is planning to empower Aashra foundation by offering informal education to 65 children in a slum area between 2 drainage canals.The inauguration of Vidya ISV nodal centre with Aashra foundation was held on 27 August at 8 pm thorough Google meet.The program was well attended by Dr Rajan Kapur ( President, ISV, USA) officially inaugurated the session. Mr Santosh Patnaik (founder and Managing Trustee, Aashraa Foundation Odisha) spoke on the occaassion.Dr Sudha Balagopalan (Chair, (VAI, ISV – South Asia Working Group (ISV SAWG)) gave an insighful demonstration and tips for the VAI in Odisha.Er P K Ashokan (Chief Patron VICT), Dr P Prathapchandran Nair (former Principal, VAST),Dr M N Agnisarman Namboothiri (former CSE HoD, VAST),Mr Chris Flores, ISV SAWG team from different parts of the world offered an inspiration with their valued presence to embark on this journey.
The students from Vidya, Sakthi S (S7, ECE Dept), Gautham (S3, EEE Dept ) and Aparna (S3, EEE Dept) introduced the snap circuit, components and safety measures. Mr Praveesh V V (Convener, VAI, VAST Nodal Centre , Asst Prof, EEE Dept) proposed vote of thanks. Mr Praveesh (Asst Prof, EEE Dept) co-ordinated the session.
