Vidya hosts ‘Souhrida Club’ residential Camp

To improve the physical, academic, social and personal skills of teenagers and leading them to a successful life, the new and innovative program of the ‘Souhrida Club’ residential Camp, conceived by the Kerala Higher Secondary Education Department, Govt. of Kerala was held at Vidya during 24-26 November 2023

Mr Rahim Veetiparampil (Thrissur District Panchayat Health and Education Standing Committee Chairman) inaugurated the camp on 24 November 2023. Mr A V Vallabhan (Thrissur District Panchayat Member) delivered presidential address.Mr T R Shobi (Velur Gram Panchayat President), Mr V A Karim (Higher Secondary District Co-ordinator), Mr Prakash Babu (District Co-ordinator), Ms Sudha Melepatt (Convener), Mr Binoj M V (Joint Co-ordinator), Dr Saji C B (Principal), Mr Anil Melepurath (IEDC Nodal Officer, Asst Prof, ECE Dept) participated in the inaugural session. Ms Priya G (Convener) proposed vote of thanks.

‘Souhrida Club’ is a new and innovative program conceived by the Department of Higher Secondary Education, Kerala with the objective of improving physical, academic, social and personal skills of teenagers and leading them to a successful life. Kerala Higher Secondary Education Department Friendship Club workshop started at Vidya Engineering College.

More than 120 higher secondary school students of Thrissur district participated in the three-day camp where students showcased their talent in cultural programs and performances.

‘Souhrida Camp envisages to enable self-development and empowerment of adolescents, spread awareness among them about health, hygiene, nutrition, family and child care, upgrade their skills and life skills, counselling, and leadership skills.

The camp was co-ordinated by Anil Melepurath (IEDC Nodal Officer, Asst Prof, ECE Dept)
