Dean Academics attends IEEE Entrepreneurship Workshop & IEEE Smart Village Conference & Power Africa Conference @ Marrakech, Morocco

Dr Sudha Balagopalan (Dean- Academics) kindles socially relevant accomplishments by leading training sessions and hands-on sessions to aid deprived societies comprehensively establish towards sustainable abundance under the auspices of IEEE Smart Village (ISV).

Dr Sudha who bestows with the role as Lead – Vocational Awareness, ISV South Asia WG attended IEEE PowerAfrica 2023 Conference and IEEE Smart Village (ISV) meeting series in Marrakech, Morocco during 06 -11 November 2023.

The workshop started on 04 November 2023 with 2 prior sessions on 24 October 2023 and 31 October 2023. The 30 participants were selected with care from different parts of Africa and beyond. Dr. Surya Raghu, Ken Stauffer and some prominent personalities including ministers and successful entrepreneurs. Dr Sudha learnt a lot on how to visualize a product until it is taken to the market.

IEEE PAC was the leading conference on the African continent focused on addressing its power and energy challenges. The conference provided a forum for Dr Sudha to share and discuss research findings, innovative ideas, budding technologies and solutions in the talk session held on 07 November 2023. Dr Sudha spoke about our work all over India. Several countries in Africa were encouraged to start something similar.

It was quite encouraging and proud moment to Vidya that, in the GEIDCO China session ISV president raised the VAST student centre’s name and praised Vidya’s efforts on 06 November 2023. Dr Sudha also made a technical tour to Mohammed VI Polytechnic University, a world class university at the core of the Mohammed VI green city of Benguerir, and witnessed experimentation sites which are open to the scientific community and enable student researchers from partner universities to test solutions at the real scale in key areas.
