AIML Dept conducts Industry Interaction with TCS : Technical Session on “AI : Trends and Predictions”
Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become profoundly embedded in our digital ecosystem.
As part of the ongoing industry institute interaction, the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AIML) hosted a technical session titled “AI :Trends and Predictions” on 15 December 2023. Artificial Intelligence (AI) is at the forefront of technological innovation, driving transformative changes across various industries. This technical session provided a comprehensive overview of the current landscape and future trajectories of AI, led by Mr. Rajeev Azhuvath, an eminent figure in the tech industry and the enterprise architect at TCS. As the head of the AI Lab at TCS Kochi, he is promoting practical learning experiences for students, offering internships for B.Tech and M.Tech projects in the field of machine learning. One of the noteworthy aspects of Mr. Rajeev’s engagement with the academic community is his role as a prominent member of the Board of Studies (BoS) for various academic institutions. This positions him as a bridge between academia and real-world industry needs, ensuring that educational programs align with the dynamic requirements of the tech industry. In addition to his academic contributions, Mr Rajeev actively mentors startups through the Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM), providing invaluable guidance and insights to aspiring entrepreneurs. His significant associations with industry bodies like NASSCOM and WTC further underscore his influence and connections in the tech industry.
Ms. Ashita Menon (Region Head of the Academic Interface Programme at TCS-Kerala) also interacted with the staff and students of AIML Dept. emphasizing the importance of academic-industry collaboration in shaping the future of technology professionals. She explained the TCS Launchpad programme which is a thriving community of young talent aspiring for an optimal start to their careers with TCS. Through this, the students can be exposed to various webinars, Hackathons & Ideathons, Tech News & TCS Bytes and many more.
The session provided students with a unique opportunity to gain insights into the latest trends and predictions in the field of AI, directly from an industry expert. As the department continues its commitment to preparing students for the challenges and opportunities in the tech industry, sessions like these contribute significantly to the holistic learning experience of the students.
