Inspiring the Next Generation – Second edition of Football Camp 2025 engages 100+ students across two venues
The Physical Education department promotes physical fitness, discipline, and teamwork among the youth with various activities. With an aim to create a healthy and engaging alternative to counter the challenges of modern-day distractions and harmful habits, the second edition of the Vidya Sports Outreach Football Camp 2024–25 was successfully conducted. This time the Football Camp 25 was successfully conducted at two venues
A total of 112 school students attended in the 30 days camp. The trainees were taught basic skills and tactics in the game of football. They eagerly attended in the training sessions from morning 7.00 am to 9.30 am and afternoon 4.00 pm to 6.30 pm. Above all the youngsters learned basic life lessons like discipline, self-motivation, acceptance of failure and victory, Beyond physical training, the camp emphasized the importance of core life values such as discipline, self-motivation, resilience in both success and failure, and the spirit of teamwork. These lessons, deeply rooted in sports, are vital for the overall development of students. Demonstrating a strong commitment to community welfare, Vidya generously offered free access to its sports facilities for the school participants, promoting health, sports, and wellness in the local community. Furthermore, 37 students were honored with high-quality ‘Vidya Sports Summer Camp’ T-shirts, featuring the college’s name and logo, as a token of their participation and accomplishments. The camp concluded with a closing ceremony held on 23 May 2025 at the college auditorium. The event was graced by Dr. S. Swapnakumar (Principal in Charge, HoD, ECE Dept) who appreciated the students’ dedication to utilizing their vacation meaningfully. The presence Mr Jose C. Ponnor (Physical Education Teacher, Assisi English Medium HSS) and Ms Arundhathi Sasikumar (Physical Education Teacher, GHSS Erumapetty) added value and encouragement to the young participants and the organizing team. Hearts and hands behind Vidya Sports Outreach Football Camp The camp was coordinated by Mr. Ramesh K. V. (Asso Prof, Phy. Edn Dept) who went above and beyond his regular duties by devoting additional time and providing clear instructions to the students throughout the sessions. His dedicated involvement and clear guidance significantly contributed to the smooth and effective execution of the sessions.The unwavering support and spirited involvement of Ms Gopika Krishna (Asst Prof, Phy. Edn Dept) significantly enhanced the overall success of the sessions. Ms Arundhathi Sasikumar (Physical Education Teacher, GHSS Erumapetty) who is a former Assistant Professor in the Dept of Physical Education, played a pivotal role in the successful conduct of the sessions.Despite being on her school vacation, Ms Arundhathi generously dedicated her time and efforts to support all students, which was deeply appreciated and served as a strong source of motivation for them.
