KDISC workshop at Vidya for Student Ambassadors sparks Innovation and Leadership

Vidya actively organizes various programmes aimed at fostering domain-based learning communities and preparing students across Kerala with future-ready skills.

The Kerala Development and Innovation Strategic Council (KDISC), a key initiative by the Government of Kerala, successfully organized a one-day Student Ambassadors Workshop on 14 July 2025 at Vidya Academy of Science and Technology, Thrissur. The event was part of Learner’s Fest 2025, a flagship campus-based initiative that aims to build domain-based learning communities and equip students across Kerala with future-ready skills.

Student Ambassadors Meet-up

This exclusive meet-up brought together a vibrant group of 220 student ambassadors from the 2026 graduating batch, nominated by 35 engineering, arts, and science colleges across Thrissur district. The event focused on empowering young changemakers, peer leaders, and innovators to shape the academic and developmental landscape of the state.

Inaugural Ceremony

The program commenced with a soulful prayer, followed by a warm welcome by Mr. Sumesh K. B (Talent Curation Executive, KDISC). Dr. Sunitha C (Principal) delivered the inaugural address and officially inaugurated the workshop, encouraging students to make the most of the opportunity.Mr Gopakumar (Program Manager, KDISC) kickstarted the technical proceedings with an insightful talk for the student ambassadors.Subsequent sessions were handled by Mr. Sumesh K. B. and Ms. Reshma K, focusing on key skills and activities.

The workshop was crafted to inspire students to lead initiatives within their institutions and become catalysts in Kerala’s knowledge ecosystem. Key offerings included:

  • Leadership Development through curated talks and expert mentorship

  • Interactive Workshops to sharpen communication, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities

  • Peer Networking with fellow student leaders and aspiring innovators

  • Real-world Exposure to emerging opportunities in innovation, entrepreneurship, and the knowledge economy

Participants were encouraged to take initiative, lead Learning Circles, and run Talent Accelerator Programmes, paving the way toward a vibrant, future-ready academic ecosystem.

The workshop was efficiently coordinated by Mr Mohammed Shahid P. M (Talent Curation Executive, KDISC) and Ms Keerthi K (Project Support Executive,KDISC).Valuable support was extended by student volunteers from the pre-final year batch of Vidya Academy of Science and Technology, ensuring smooth and effective execution.

The workshop was enthusiastically received by all participants and served as an effective platform for nurturing leadership, collaboration, and innovation among Kerala’s student community. It stands as a testament to KDISC’s commitment to fostering a future-ready and knowledge-driven society.
