CSE Dept organises one-day workshop titled “NEXTGEN CREATORS – Power of AI in Your Hands”
With an aim top introduce Artificial Intelligence (AI) concepts to Plus Two students, equipping them with practical skills and foundational knowledge through an engaging, hands-on learning experience the Department of Computer Science & Engineering successfully organised a one-day workshop titled “NEXTGEN CREATORS – Power of AI in Your Hands” on 26 July 2025.
Designed to foster curiosity and digital creativity, the workshop provided students with exposure to block-based coding platforms tailored for developing beginner-level AI projects. The initiative served as an outreach effort to build early interest in emerging technologies among school students.
The workshop was structured around three primary learning modules:
-
Introduction to AI:
Students were introduced to the fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence, its scope, and real-world applications impacting sectors such as education, healthcare, and industry. -
AI Tools for Students:
Participants explored beginner-friendly AI tools designed to enhance learning and problem-solving in academic contexts. -
Block-Based Coding for AI Projects:
Through interactive sessions, students learned to build simple AI applications using visual programming platforms. These hands-on activities helped them understand AI logic without requiring prior programming experience.
By the end of the session, students successfully created basic AI projects and developed a foundational understanding of how AI can be applied in creative and practical ways.
The workshop was specifically designed for Plus Two students from SN Trust Higher Secondary School, Nattika. A total of 40 students participated in the session, demonstrating great enthusiasm and a strong desire to learn. The event was highly interactive, with students actively engaging in discussions, collaborating during activities, and expressing a genuine interest in exploring the world of Artificial Intelligence.
The session followed a learner-centered and experiential approach, encouraging active participation and inquiry-based learning. Complex concepts were broken down using simple explanations, real-life examples, and visual tools. Students were guided through each step of the coding exercises, allowing them to implement theoretical knowledge in a practical setting. This hands-on, activity-driven methodology helped make AI approachable and fun, ensuring that learning was both effective and enjoyable.
The workshop was facilitated by Ms Jucy Vareed (Asst Asst Prof, CSE Dept). Her expertise in Artificial Intelligence and her engaging teaching style enabled students to absorb challenging concepts with ease.
The “NEXTGEN CREATORS – Power of AI in Your Hands” workshop was a resounding success, effectively igniting interest in Artificial Intelligence among young learners. The initiative exemplified the Department of Computer Science & Engineering’s dedication to promoting digital literacy and technological awareness at the school level.
Student feedback highlighted their appreciation for the hands-on learning environment, exposure to real-world tools, and the opportunity to build their very first AI applications. The workshop not only enhanced their understanding of AI but also inspired many to pursue further exploration in the field. It stands as a testament to the power of early exposure in shaping the innovators and problem-solvers of tomorrow.
The Editorial Team of News & Events joins the entire Vidya fraternity in extending hearty appreciation to Ms Jucy and all involved on the successful conduct of the session that sparks curiosity and serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of shaping the innovators, thinkers, and problem-solvers of tomorrow, driving progress and transformative change in society !!! |
