NSS Initiative for HIV/AIDS Awareness on World AIDS Day
With an aim to create widespread awareness regarding HIV/AIDS, promoting empathy towards affected individuals, and encouraging informed, responsible, and compassionate behavior among the student body. National Service Scheme (NSS) organized a solemn pledge-taking program with the active participation of NSS volunteers and students on the occasion of World AIDS Day.
The core of the event was the pledge-taking ceremony, which strongly emphasized the critical pillars of prevention, awareness, non-discrimination, and social responsibility in combating the spread of the disease. Administered in a disciplined and solemn manner, the pledge saw enthusiastic participation from the students.
By collectively taking this pledge, the attendees reaffirmed their unwavering commitment to spreading accurate information and supporting inclusive, stigma-free attitudes toward people living with HIV. This active involvement reflected a profound sense of duty and social consciousness among the students.
The smooth and efficient execution of the program was made possible through the committed leadership of the NSS Volunteer Secretaries , namely Harikrishnan K (S6, ME Dept),Godwin C Baiju (S6, ME Dept), Sonu Sunny (S6, ME Dept), and Niranjan Agnivesh K B (S6, ME Dept). Their meticulous coordination ensured proper organization and robust participation.
The entire initiative was successfully guided by Mr. Ranjith E R (NSS Program Officer, Asst Prof, ME Dept). His supervision played a pivotal role in maintaining the decorum of the event and reinforcing its deep significance. Ultimately, the program proved to be a highly meaningful initiative that successfully fostered positive attitudes and reflected the core values of the NSS in building compassionate citizens.
