CSE Dept in association with VCAIR organizes two-day wokshop on “Deep Learning with Linear Algebra and Optimization”

The CSE  Dept of Vidya in association with Vidya Center for AI and Research (VCAIR), organized a two-day workshop on “Deep Learning with Linear Algebra and Optimization” during   23 – 24 February 2023. The programe was inaugurated in a simple ceremony held at Advanced Computer Lab on 23 February 2023. The Guest of Honour was Prof. Dr Biswa Nath Datta

(Distinguished Research Professor at Northern Illinois University). A warm welcome speech was delivered by Dr. Ramani Bhai V,(HoD,CSE Dept). Dr Saji C B (Principal) presided over the inaugural ceremony. The session was inaugurated wih lighting the lamp by Prof. Dr Biswa Nath Datta. Dr Sudha Balagopalan (Dean Academics ) felicitated the audience. 

The workshop gave a general introduction to supervised learning, deep learning, neural networks, and machine learning. The various regression algorithms used in machine learning were also explained to the participants. Professor Datta discussed the various optimization techniques, including QR and SVD, and emphasised the significance of numerical algebra in machine learning.

Dr Ramani Bai (HoD,CSE Dept). gave  vote of thanks at the end of the workshop, and specifically thanked to Dr Sudha Balagopalan (Dean Academics). The workshop was educational and helpful for future reference, according to the participants. The workshop provided both professionals and students with a wonderful opportunity to learn about the fundamentals of machine learning.
