CSE Dept conducts online session with Project Co-ordinator I-YwD
Innovation by Youth with Disabilities (I-YwD) is a project by the Government of Kerala- conceived by Kerala Development and Innovation Strategic Council (K-DISC) and implemented by National Institute of Speech and Hearing (NISH). I-YwD project is a vital step in providing the right dignity and consideration for the differently-abled. The National Institute of Speech and Hearing (NISH) and the A P J Abdul Kalam Technological University (KTU) inked a MoU to serve a platform for self-motivated youth with disabilities to progress in the path of innovation. Dr Ramani Bai V (Professor & HoD, CSE Dept) is serving as the Institution Authorized Signatory and Faculty PoC (Point of Contact).An online meet was conducted with Mr Avaneesh (Project Co-ordinator,I-YwD) from NISH to discuss project ideas aimed at benefiting specially able community. Dr Ramani Bai (HoD, CSE Dept) Dr Sudha Balagopalan (Dean, Academics), project co-ordinators and students joined the discussions.
The session brought together stakeholders passionate about leveraging technology to enhance opportunities for persons with disabilities. The primary objectives were to explore innovative project ideas addressing the unique needs of disabled and to identify potential areas of collaboration between Vidya and NISH. The engaging session commenced with introductions and an insightful overview of the collaborative initiative. The NISH Project Co-ordinator shared profound insights into the challenges faced by disabled and the transformative potential of technology in mitigating these challenges. It was a great discussion, looking at what could work and how Vidya can make a real difference for these students. The session ended with interaction of Mr Avaneesh with student representatives.
