Workshop on “Code the Future: Python and Machine Learning” by AIML Dept

The Department of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AIML) strives to foster a culture of innovation, critical thinking, and technical excellence by equipping students with the knowledge and skills required to thrive in the rapidly evolving fields of AI and ML.

The AIML Dept organized a one-day workshop titled “Code the Future: Python and Machine Learning” on 23 May 2025 exclusively for High School and Higher Secondary students.

The session began with a warm welcome address by Dr. Jeeva K A (Prof & HoD , AIML Dept) who also delivered an inspiring message to the participants. In her address, Dr. Jeeva highlighted the importance of early exposure to programming and machine learning, encouraging students to explore the endless possibilities these technologies offer in solving real-world challenges.

The workshop aimed to introduce students to the foundational concepts of Python programming and Machine Learning, two pivotal technologies that are shaping the future of software development and data-driven innovation.

The technical sessions were led by Ms. Sinda P Xavier (Asst Prof, AIML Dept), who served as the Resource Person, and the event was coordinated by Ms. Karthika P N (Asst Prof, AIML Dept) and Ms. Riya Roy, (Asst Prof, AIML Dept) Their combined efforts ensured the smooth and effective delivery of content.

The workshop featured an engaging mix of conceptual lessons and hands-on sessions, enabling participants to gain practical skills in coding and applying basic ML algorithms. A special highlight of the day was the project presentation by students of S6 AIML, which demonstrated real-life applications of Python and Machine Learning. These presentations helped participants better understand how theoretical concepts are translated into practical solutions.

The feedback from participants was overwhelmingly positive. They particularly appreciated the interactive format of the sessions and expressed keen interest in attending future workshops on advanced machine learning and data science. The workshop effectively met its objective of sparking curiosity, building foundational knowledge, and inspiring the next generation of tech enthusiasts.

The Editorial Team of News & Events joins the entire Vidya fraternity in extending heartiest congratulations to Ms Sinda and the entire AIML Dept on the successful conduct of the workshop that  fosters curiosity in technology and empowering talented minds to explore real-world problem-solving through coding !!!
