EEE Dept conducts Add-on Course on MATLAB for EEE 2025-29 batch students

To connect students with fundamental and applied knowledge of MATLAB software, enabling them to model, analyze, and solve engineering problems in Electrical and Electronics Engineering

The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE), Vidya Academy of Science and Technology, Thrissur, successfully conducted an Add-on Course on MATLAB for 2024 admission batch of EEE students. The program was organized during the second semester and held from 16 June 2025 to 20 June 2025 at the Advanced Electrical Engineering Lab.

A total of 39 students registered and actively participated in the sessions. The course, comprising 30 hours of intensive hands-on training, was designed to address a key gap in the existing syllabi of Computer Science and Computer Applications programs.

The training emphasized the importance of MATLAB and Python tools in modern engineering applications. Students were introduced to Python’s simplicity, versatility, and wide-ranging applications in industries, with a particular focus on data visualization, machine learning model deployment, and problem-solving skills. The sessions also highlighted how these skills enhance employability and prepare students for real-world challenges in technology-driven domains.

The sessions were handled by Ms. Neenu Thomas (Asst Prof, EEE Dept) as the Resource Person, with support from Ms. Jisha P R (Technical Instructor, EEE Dept.).

The program was coordinated by Mr. Krishnakumar M (Course Coordinator, Asst Prof, EEE Dept) and Ms. Lasitha Mohandas (Joint Coordinator, Asst Prof, EEE Dept) ensuring smooth execution and effective learning outcomes.

The successful completion of this Add-on Course reflects the department’s commitment to offering skill-enrichment programs that complement academics, empowering students to stay ahead in emerging technologies.

The Editorial Team of News & Events joins the entire Vidya fraternity in extending heartiest congratulations to Ms. Neenu  and the entire EEE Dept on the successful conduct of the session that fosters computational skills and offered hands-on experience in the simulation and visualization of real-world systems !!!
