Punarjani – Phase 3 : NSS Volunteers revitalize healthcare facilities

Punarjani, the flagship initiative under the National Service Scheme (NSS), Government of Kerala, continues to create a positive impact by restoring and revitalizing healthcare infrastructure through the active involvement of student volunteers.

As part of this initiative, Phase 3 of Punarjani was successfully organized by the NSS Units of Vidya Academy of Science and Technology, Thrissur, on 1 October 2025. The programme focused on carrying out maintenance, repair, and cleaning activities at the designated healthcare centre, ensuring a cleaner and safer environment for both patients and staff.

The volunteers worked diligently on restoring and improving hospital facilities. Major tasks completed during the day included:

  • Repair and servicing of wheelchairs
  • Repair and alignment of patient beds and cots
  • General cleaning and assistance in organizing medical equipment

The smooth execution of the activities was made possible through the enthusiastic leadership of the NSS KTU Care coordinators:

he programme was effectively coordinated under the guidance of Mr. Rajesh S K (NSS Programme Officer and Asso Prof, EEE Dept) and Ms. Anu Maria Antony (NSS Programme Officer and Asst Prof, CE Dept).
