Alumni Interaction Session : Pathways in Civil Engineering

An Alumni Interaction Session was conducted for the first-year students of the Department of Civil Engineering on 04 December 2025, featuring distinguished alumnae from the 2006–2010 batch, representing diverse professional domains.

The invited alumnae were:

  • Ms. Aswathy Radhakrishnan, Special Village Officer, Chavakkad Taluk Office

  • Ms. Reeba Job, Manager (Design), Kochi Metro Rail Limited, Ernakulam

  • Ms. Jinju Jose C, Overseer, Kerala Water Authority, Project Division, Ollur

  • Ms. Sruthy Sagaran V, Structural Engineer, Concept Home Designers, Kottapadi

The alumnae shared their professional journeys and experiences, providing insights into career growth across industry, government service, research, and design sectors. They highlighted domain-specific aspects, including the role of civil engineers in infrastructure development, public sector responsibilities, applied research, project execution, and structural design practices. The session emphasized the importance of core technical knowledge, adaptability and continuous skill development.

Students received valuable guidance on career planning, higher studies, skill enhancement, and the wide range of opportunities available in Civil Engineering. The resource persons were formally introduced by  Dr. Abhilasha P. S.(HoD, CE Dept) who expressed pride in welcoming the distinguished alumnae back to the department. The session was coordinated by Ms. Chithra M. (Asst Prof,CE Dept)
