Vidya welcomes Vishu with Ponkani 2026, embracing tradition and festivity

Staff members, dressed in shades of yellow and filled with cheerfulness, created a lively and positive atmosphere, making it a perfect moment to begin the celebration.
Vishu celebration Ponkani, featuring the traditional Vishu Kani, was organized by Vidya Staff Club on 08 April 2026. The highlight of the celebration was beautifully arranged Vishu Kani, symbolizing prosperity, hope and new beginnings. The Kani was adorned with traditional items such as rice, fruits, vegetables, a mirror, coins and flowers, creating a spiritually uplifting atmosphere for all participants.The celebration became even more captivating with the grand entry of Lord Krishna, beautifully portrayed and dressed by Mr Sourav (Trade Instructor, ECE Dept)  followed by a mesmerizing dance performance that enthralled the audience.
Mr. Suresh Lal (Executive Director, VICT), Dr. Shalij P R (Director- Academics, VICT),Adv. P N Unnirajan IPS (Retd)(Director-Administration, VICT) and Dr. Sunitha C (Principal)  delivered Vishu messages, extending their wishes for a bright and prosperous time ahead.
Vishu Kaineettam was ceremoniously presented by Lord Krishna, portrayed in traditional attire, to the Executive Director. It was  given by the Executive Director to the Principal, who then distributed it to all Heads of Departments. The Heads, in turn, presented it to their respective department members.The programme concluded with a group photo session, capturing the joyful moments and togetherness of the staff. The event beautifully reflected the essence of Vishu, conveying a message of happiness, prosperity and unity among all participants.The event was co-ordinated by Ms. Jemy Jose Kakkassery (Staff Club Secretary and Asst. Prof., ECE Dept), with wholehearted support from the Staff Club Executive Committee members
