Sameeksha organises “Robotics and Life Skills” workshop for school students
Sameeksha, the trainers club of Vidya, organized a Robotics and Life Skills Workshop for school students during 4 – 6 May 2019. The workshop was conducted at VAST IT Centre, East Fort, Thrissur. As many as 28 students from grades 6 to 12 participated in the workshop.
Inaugural ceremony
The activities of the Workshop began with a brief inaugural ceremony presided over by Dr Saji C B, Principal, held at 10.00 am on 4 May 2019. The Workshop was formally inaugurated byEr G Mohanachandran, Executive Director, VICT. Sameeskha Convenor Mr Hareesh K, Sameeskha Secretary Ms Akhila R, Sameeskha Joint Convenor Ms Divya Radhakrishnan, Sameeskha Treasurer Mr Alex Chacko and IT Centre Manager Mr Krishnaprasad attended the function.
Activities aplenty
The activities of the first day started with an ice breaking session and followed by a motivation session on exploring the inner potential by Mr Alex Chacko. On the second day students were introduced to playing with Line Follower and Obstacle Detection robots. There was also a session on “Improving Leadership Skills” handled by Ms Akhila R and Ms Divya Radhakrishnan. On the third day, students were introduced to playing With Bluetooth and WiFi Controlled Robot. Participants were also introduced to the concepts of creativity and innovation through an illuminating talk by Mr Hareeh K.
All the sessions on robotics were handled by Mr Ramesh C R (AP, ECE Dept).
The workshop came to end with a valedictory session on 6 May 2019. Dr Latha Raj, Director, Students Welfare and Social Projects and Advisor, Sameeksha, distributed the certificates to the participants in the presence of their parents. The programme was well received by the participants and the feedback was excellent.
