MCA Dept launches an Android app based on Ramayana

The MCA Dept of the College has launched an Android app titled “Ramayana Parayanam” with the following features:
  • A single point location to access and hear a melodious recitation of the entire text of Malayalam Adhyathma Ramayanam by Thunchath Ezhuthachan, recorded and uploaded as 25 YouTube videos by Ms Jyothibai Pariyadath
  • The facility to read offline the entire text of Malayalam Adhyathma Ramayanam by Thunchath Ezhuthachan in two modes – chapter by chapter and Kanda by Kanda, or as per the order followed in the Malayalam month of Karkkitakam, popularly known as Ramayana month
  • An opportunity to enjoy samples of the visual splendor of the pictorial depictions of scenes and incidents in the story of Rama and Seetha rendered in two different styles in two different ages – pictures given in an illustrated Ramayana book published by Shrimat Balasaheb Pandit Pant Pratinidhi, Chief of Aundh, at Aundh, Satara District is 1916, and pictures that adorn the pages of Mewar Ramayana, a richly illustrated edition of Valmiki Ramayana prepared for Maharana Jagat Singh, the ruler of the Rajput kingdom of Mewar in Rajasthan, in the middle of the seventeenth century
  • The facility to read the biography of Thunchathu Ezhuthachan written by Kuruvan Thodiyil Sankaran Ezhuthachan and published in 1925
  • Links to a rendition of Hanuman Chalisa and to an animated presentation of the Ramayana story created by Nippon Ramayana Films
