VCAIR,CSE Department organize five-day online FEP on “AI & ML-Industry Practices & Perspectives”

To meet the ever-demanding needs of knowledge industry, Faculty Enablement Programmes (FEP) have always been an effective tool to enhance teaching and research capabilities of educators. Vidya Center for AI and Research (VCAIR), CSE  Dept of Vidya organized a five-day online Faculty Enablement  Program (FEP) on “AI & ML-Industry Practices and Perspectives” conducted by TCS during  12 – 16 September 2022.  The programe was inaugurated in an online ceremony held at 10.30 am on 12 September 2022. The chief guest of the occasion was Mr Rajeev M A (Head- Artficial Intelligence Lab & Enterprise Architect). A warm welcome speech was delivered by Dr. Ramani Bhai V (HoD,CSE Dept). Dr Saji C B (Principal) presided over the inaugural ceremony. Mr. Chakola Paul Johny (Head , Training  and  Placement  Cell, VAST )addressed the session.

The sessions of the FEP 

The first session was handled by Mr Rajeev M A on the topic Industrial trends in AI. The second session was handled by Ms Nikhila Haridas on the topic ML in practices and Use cases. The third session was on the topic AI for computer vision  applications which was handled by Mr. Jyothis V James. The fourth session was handled by Mr Varad Joshy on Introduction to NLP and Use case demonstration. The final session was handled by Ms Surya R on the topic Conversational AI. The course materials on FEP were released by the resource persons.

The FEP received a lot of positive feedback from faculty members and research scholars. Google Meet was the platform used and the session links, feedback links were shared every day. The registered participants were engaged in a special WhatsApp group and by email. The FEP ended by the vote of thanks by Mr Shine P Xavier (Asst Prof, CSE Dept)
