VSEC conducts Three-day Empowerment Programme 2023 for school students

As  part of VSEC’s initiative to empower school students to become better citizens, an Online Empowerment Programme was hosted during 01-03 March 2023 for the students of classes 6, 7, and 8 via Google Meet platform between 19:30 and 20:30

Day-1 : 01 March 2023)

Topic : Creative Thinking

Resource Person : Mr Alex Chacko C (Asst Prof, ME Dept)

The anchoring was done by Sinan Sulaiman (S4 ME Dept). The session began with a prayer, followed by an introduction about the speaker by Anjali V (S4 ECE Dept). A very experienced faculty and certified counselor, Mr. Alex Chacko C was able to handle the session quite effectively and keep the students engaged. He spoke about when, where, and how the element of ‘creative thinking’ was important and the factors that made it an inevitable quality in today’s world.The vote of thanks was delivered by Krishnaveni T (S4 ECE Dept).

Day 2 : 02 March 2023

Topic : Cyber Security

Resource Person : Mr Sajay K R (Asso Prof, MCA Dept)

The anchoring was done by Anjali V (S4, ECE Dept). The session began with a prayer, followed by an introduction about the speaker by Sreerpiya A (S6, ME Dept). An experienced person in the domain of Cyber security, Mr Sajay K R spoke about the different factions that were often overlooked but tended to be most important in today’s scenario. He gave detailed description about various cybercrimes, the things that would lead to it, and tips on how to stay away from dangers. The vote of thanks was delivered by Midhun Joshy (S4 EEE Dept).

Topic    :  Failure to Success

Resource Person : Mr Sinan Sulaiman (S4 ME Dept)

The anchoring was done by Gayathri Gireesh (S4, ECE Dept). The session began with a prayer, after which the Head of VSEC, Dr. Siju K C, spoke a few words on Vidya Social Empowerment Center and  Mohammed Hashim (S4 ME Dept) introduced the speaker of the day.

An experienced person in public speaking, Mr. Sinan Sulaiman handled the session very interactively with the students. The class was interesting and he vividly recounted the failures in the lives of ten world famous personalities, the confidence it gave them, and the successes they achieved through them.

After this a quiz was conducted by Meghna Vasanth (S6, ME Dept).

The vote of thanks was delivered by Anjali V (S4, ECE Dept).

From the Empowerment Programme, the students learnt:-

·   About the various aspects of Cyber Security and the dos and don’ts when connected to a network. [Day-2]

The programme was  co-ordinated by Ms Jiji P J (Asst Prof, AS Dept),Ms Roshni Vijay (Asst Prof, CE Dept) and Mr Midhun Joshy  (S4, EEE Dept) under the guidance of Dr Siju K C (Head of VSEC and Asst  Prof, AS Dept).

and Mr Sinan on the thriving conduct of  Empowerment Programme that increases the students’ sense of self-worth to improve their coping skills and  to provide them with skills to become accustomed to the surrounding perspective !!!
