MCA Department offers great practice of annual charity work
The noble gesture offers by the Dept of MCA every year by supporting the deserving sections of the society is a matter of pride for all involved.
The students and staff of the MCA Department of the College organised a visit to the Mareena home, near Kunnamkulam on 02 May 2023. This home is working under the care of Congregation of the Sisters of Charity (C.S.C)
The Home has around 29 elderly men as inmates, who need help and support. Most of them did not have a family to depend on. The main aim of the visit was to interact with the inmates and to donate some daily-need items. These items were purchased by the fund collected by donations from all students of the current S4 MCA Batch.
Dr Reji C Joy, (HoD, MCA Dept) handed over the items to the Home in-charge. Mr Sajay K R (Asso Prof, MCA Dept) personally sponsored and handed over a fully adjustable hospital bed to Mareena home. Mr Dijesh P (Asso Prof, MCA Dept), Ms Salkala K S (Asst Prof, MCA Dept) and Mr Manesh D (Asst Prof, MCA Dept) co-ordinated the programme.
Students mingled with the inmates and spent a good time with them. They entertained the inmates with songs, dance and games. Light refreshments were also given to the inmates as part of the visit. The Department has been organizing such charity works for the past several years. The office bearers of Mareena Home thanked to all for their kind act.
