Vidya Student performance at Sri Krishna Jayanthi Celebration turned into surprising immersion with vibrant scenes and emotional moment

Sri Krishna Jayanthi  2024 was quite quintessential, alive with love, light and song. Ashtamirohini/Janmashtami Krishna Janmashtami/   Janmashtami, is the annual celebration of the incarnation of Lord Vishnu.

In conjunction with Janmashtami on 26 August 2024, the ‘Uriyadi (Pot breaking ceremony)’ and Gopika dance inspired by the theme of love and devotion between Krishna, Radha and their friends (Gopika) performed by the young talented dancers at the Mammiyur temple , Guruvayur attracted a lot of attention.

It is with abundance of joy and fervor, the Editorial Team of News & Events is  sharing the news that, Vidya student Krishnasree U P (S3, EEE Dept) who dressed up as little Krishna with special costumes and peacock feathers really brought pious people to the peak of devotion with her role as ‘Uriyadikannan’ 

The rhythmic steps and the presentation from early morning till 3 pm that entertained and kept the audience mesmerizing. The Uriyadi and Gopika performances have gone viral on social media.The performance captured the print and visual media as well.

The selection process was tedious and Krishnasree followed hectic religious routines for more than a month to admire the presence of the divine and enlivening the Life of Lord Krishna through her performance.

When Tirupati Devaswom officials came to Guruvayur on Ashtamirohini day, they liked to see their performance. After discussing it in the Tirupati Devaswom Governing Body, the Devaswom Board invited Guruvayur Celebration Committee members for the performance of  Krishnasree’s group. Tirupati Brahmotsavam celebration, that represents Kerala, is the Gopika dance and Uriyadi. A placard written Kerala will be held in front.  Ashtamirohini’s Krishna-Radha and Gopis to Tirupati Brahmotsavam.
