Dreaming of becoming an Automotive Product Designer?

The Mechanical Engineering Association (MEA) of Vidya organized a seminar on “Prerequisite for Graduate Engineer Trainee: Automotive Product Designer” on 2 February 2021 at 10.00 AM. Over 50 students from the fifth semester B Tech (ME) classes attended the seminar. Mr Satheesh Ullatil, Co-founder, Leameng Solutions, Pune was the resource person.

The chief guest was welcomed and introduced by Dr N Ramachandran (Prof and Head, ME Dept) via video conferencing. The talk highlighted the importance of students being updated in various technological matters in appropriate areas of engineering. It included topics such as automotive product and domain knowledge, career path on product design platform, importance of CAD and FEA tool knowledge etc. A few product samples made out of composite materials were shown to the participants during the session in order to give them a better understanding of applications of engineering design. Brief comparisons between the potential capabilities of engineering degree holders and engineering diploma holders were made in order to make the students aware of the importance of getting practical knowledge and hands on experience.

On behalf of MEA, as a mark of gratitude and appreciation, a memento and letter of appreciation were presented to the guest by Mr Vibin Antony (AP, ME Dept). The student representative Sreehari Sasikumar delivered the vote of thanks.
