Innovations in Assistive Technology – Brahma-Vidya Social Outreach Programme
Under the auspicious of Brahma-Vidya Social Outreach Programme, VAST in association with “Chakshumathi” conducted a session on “Innovations in Assistive Technology” and the distribution ceremony of 23 daisy players on 15, June 2013 in the college auditorium. “Chakshumathi” is a charitable nonprofit trust focusing on research, development and in adopting latest assistive technology for the upbringing and empowerment of the Blind and visually challenged community in the country. DAISY (Digital Accessible Information System) is a technical standard for digital audio books, periodicals and computerized text. DAISY is designed to be a complete audio substitute for print material and is specifically designed for use by people with “print disabilities,” including blindness, impaired vision.
