Orientation Programme for MCA freshers 2017
The Department of Computer Applications organised the Orientation Programme for newly admitted MCA students of this academic year on 9 August 2017. The programme conducted in College Auditorium was held in two sessions. The first session was a formal one in which functionaries of the College participated. In the second session, apart from the newly admitted students and parents, only the faculty and staff of the Department participated.
The first session was presided over by Dr Sudha Balagopalan, Principal, and she inaugurated the new batch by lighting the traditional lamp. Dr V N Krishnachandran, welcomed the newly admitted students and parents. Er. G Mohanachandran, Executive Director, VICT, Prof (Dr) Ramani Bai, Head of CSE Department and Mr Avinash V, student of S6 MCA class, felicitated and the freshers. Mr Reji C Joy proposed a vote of thanks.
The second session began with a talk by Mr Paul Chakola, Head of Training & Placement Cell, on the current placement scenario. This was followed by a presentation on the College by Mr Ajay and Ms Reshma, students of S3 MCA class. After the presentation, Head of Department explained the academic schedule, the rules and regulations of the College and other important information relating to the MCA programme. The faculty and staff of the College were also introduced to the participants.
After the second session, the students and their parents were taken to the premises of the Department. They were introduced to the various facilities there.
All activities relating to the Orientation Programme came to an at 12.30 pm.
