Vidya pays tributes to Dr D Balakrishnan and Er K R Brahmadathan
The College paid rich tributes to the memory of Dr D Balakrishnan, the founder Academic Director, and Er K R Brahmadathan, the founder executive Director, of the College by organising a solemn commemoration function on 17 September 2018 in the College Auditorium. The highlight of Dr D Balakrishnan commemoration programme was a commemorative talk by Dr U Krishnakumar, Director of Amritha School of Arts and Sciences, Kochi, and the highlight of the Er K R Brahmadathan commemorative activity was a brief but enthusiastically carried out, mass Yoga performance by the students and others present in the Auditorium. There was also a yoga performance by the Vidya yoga team. There was the traditional lamp lighting and floral tributes. As a symbolic gesture of paying tributes to all the great gurus, the heads of all academic departments separately and simultaneously lighted oil lamps.
The programme was presided by the Er P K Asokan, Chief Patron, VICT. Dr Saji C B, Principal, welcomed all to the function. Dr Sudha Balagopalan, Dean-Academics, paid tributes to both the visionaries. Dr V N Krishnachandran, Vice-Principal, introduced the chief guest Dr U Krishnakumar. Felicitations were given by Dr K B M Namboothiripad (Visiting Professor, VAST), Dr C E Krishnan (Director, SNGC), Dr T K Vijayaraghavan (Former President, Cochin Devaswom Board) and Er M N Chandran (Retired Executive Engineer, KSEB).
In the nearly an hour-long commemorative lecture, Dr U Krishnakumar talked at length on “Emotional Intelligence in Professional Practice”. At the end of the talk, everybody agreed that the talk was very useful and highly informative.
