NSS’s Green Carpet Programme at Vilangan Hills

As part of the Green Carpet Project initiated by the Government of Kerala, the NSS volunteers of Vidya cleaned Vilangan Hills and its surrounding areas by removing the plastic wastes scattered around the areas on 19 January 2019. As many as 70 NSS volunteers participated in the programme.

Vilangan Hills is considered as an important tourist destination in Thrissur District. The top of the Hill provides a beautiful setting for getting a panoramic view of Thrissur City and Thrissur Kole Wetlands. The Hill has been referred as an Oxygen Jar of Thrissur City. The cleaning campaign by the NSS volunteers helped to restore the beauty of the place.
