1200 candidates write NEET in Vidya
For the first time, during this admission season, Vidya hosted the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test, popularly known by its acronym NEET.
This year’s test – NEET (UG)-2019 – was held on 5 May 2019 and around 1200 candidates wrote the test in Vidya. Due to the stringent conditions in conducting this prestigious national entrance test, it was a huge challenge for Vidya to organise the test without any hiccups and Vidya’s dedicated staff and faculty met the challenge successfully. It was also an opportunity to Vidya to showcase its varied strengths, its rich infrastructure and its vibrant academic ambience to a wide cross section of the student population and their parents.
The NEET was conducted by National Testing Agency, an organisation established by the Ministry of Human Resource development (MHRD), Government of India (GOI), for conducting efficient, transparent and international standard test in order to assess the competency of candidates for admission to premier higher education institutions. The NEET is conducted for admission to MBBS/BDS Courses in Indian Medical/Dental Colleges run with the approval of Medical Council of India/Dental Council of India under the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India except for the institutions established through an Act of Parliament such as AIIMS and JIPMER Puducherry.
