ME Dept’s ten-foot-high robot from scrap wins praise
As part of Vyvidh ’20, the technical festival of Vidya, the sixth students of the ME Dept put up a ten-foot-high structure in the form of a robot built using only scrap materials. They were trying to draw attention to the harmful effects of scrap materials on the environment. The structure was built using a helmet, car grill, car radiator, bike seat, shock absorbers, bus air-filter, bike seat and bike petrol tanks, which made up the head, chest, body, hands and legs of the robot respectively. It also attracted a lot of media attention. The New Indian Express carried an exclusive story on this innovative idea.
