IEEE VAST volunteers put smiles on the faces of inmates of “Thanal VMV” on Children’s Day
On the occasion of Children’s Day, volunteers of IEEE Student Branch VAST took the initiative to donate meals for the Ashram inmates of Thanal VMV orphanage. Due to Covid protocol, the volunteers were unable to visit their young brothers and sisters but then, promised to conduct a few events for them after the restoration of normalcy. Two of the volunteers, Fayaz Mohammed and Arun Krishnan visited Thanal representing the IEEE SB VAST to handed over the contributions.
Destitute people of all age groups, from babies to elderly are taken care of under the roof of Thanal VMV orphanage. They provide food, clothing, accommodation, medical treatment and education expenses to the inmates; they protect, care, nurture and nurse the destitute persons, the handicapped, the mentally challenged and the people neglected by their own relatives. Children are provided with education by sending them to different schools and various vocational training centres in accordance with their mental capability and acumen for education and training.
