NSS seven-day special camp “Thusharam” inaugurated

An annual seven-day special camp is a fixture in the schedule of activities of the NSS Units of a college. Vidya’s NSS units used to organise such camps with great enthusisasm and fervour and the volunteers used to complete solid and substantial social service work as part of the activities of the camp. This year, Vidya’s NSS Units are organising the seven-day camp during 26 December 2021 – 1 January 2022 and they have very poetically christened the camp as “Thusharam”.

The camp  was inaugurated by Velur Gramapanchayath President Mr Shoby T R on 26 December 2021. Dr N Ramachandran (Prof and Head, ME Dept) presided over the inaugural function.

The main project that is planned to be executed as part of the activities of the camp is water resources mapping of Velur Gramapanchayath. A group of five volunteers are planned to be assigned to each Ward of the Gramapanchayath for collecting details of wells, water availability, well recharging etc. Along with this, invited talks are also arranged on each day of the camp.
