HAPPY NEW YEAR 2023 : Glimpses of 2022

Vidya is untiring in its commitment to provide quality education to the students who are about to enter into the proficient realm full of challenges and opportunities in the year 2022. Vidya has  experienced significant milestones during the year 2022.

Rank, B Tech Degree with Honours 

Many of our students have performed exceptionally well and secured ranks in the past and this year as well. Reshma P R (2019 – 22 Batch) secured  first rank in MCA (3 year course) with a CGPA (Cumulative Grade Point Average) of 9.72. 78 Vidya students  (2018 – 22 Batch)  received a mark of acknowledgment bestowed in honor of their accomplishment by achieving B Tech Degree with Honours . Vidya Student (Alfred George (S7 B Tech CE) bagged ISTE Best Student Award  .
Placement 

Vidya  students stand-out and grow competitive edge over the others with the requisite technical and managerial skills and it is happy to share that more than 380 (2018-22 Batch)  students have been placed in respectable positions in the industry. Mr Thashreef Mohammed (CSE Dept, 2019-23 Batch) who got selected with an annual package of Rs.7.5 LPA stands among the crowd
Vidya’s sharpest young minds prefer to take a different path, to experiment innovate, and come up with something extra ordinary which has brought many accolades : –

In the previous year as well Vidya students equipped with the right talent and qualities to face the industry requirements,  and have developed  some innovative products :-

·          ME students developed Smart Windows to convert window light into electricity

·         An Innovative equipment by EEE Students to make physiotherapy smarter

·        Petrol-electricity hybrid auto developed by ME students 
The College Magazine ‘PARINATI ’ expressed the stuent’s  their multiple voices talented from dynamic and varied learning communities. The departmental publication Ormapusthakam (ViCA) , and Encircle (ECE  Dept) enhanced the visibility on various department initiatives and activities 
The prestigious events of the college, ‘Scholarship and Endowment Prize Distribution Function 2022’ and ‘Graduation Ceremony’ set a high benchmark of excellence. The title of ‘Sunny Diamonds Out sparkle Award of Excellence for the Best Outgoing Student 2022’ for outstanding academic and extra-curricular activities won by  Mr Abhijith Sheheer (2018- – 22 Batch, CSE Dept).The pure bliss moments of the mesmerizing performances during the events  such as Annual Athletic Meet , Vidya’s technological extravaganza “Vyvidh 2K22”, Advika – the arts festival served as  a visual treat to the spectators. Various departments of  the college organised programmes to celebrate the spirit of all the occasions with great gusto .
 Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Center  (IEDC)

Thinking ahead of realistic boundaries turns into a normal practice when there is a group of exceptionally dedicated team of IEDC  with some of the prestigious programmes / accomplishments : –

NSS

The NSS volunteers of  Vidya support the requirement  of selfless service by conducting social outreach programs like Cleanliness  drives in  Chavakad Police Station, Wadakkanchery Railway Station , Cheppara,  Vidya campus  , Mulagunnathukkavu Railway Station, Pudukad Railway Station, Chavakkad Beach,  Regional Co-ordinator of Rudhirasena, Swachhata Mission survey in Chavakkad Municipality,  Velur Primary Health Center, volunteership for celebrating “World White Cane Day” etc . The NSS volunteers have been contributed exemplary well in the activities like , Drug Awareness Campaign , celebration of  Onam with Pope Paul Mercy Home inmates, Best Energy Cell Award 2020-21, Integrated Farming works,  different blood donation camps, Aryampadam Anganvadi renovation works, water survey at Wadakanchery, Malaria Awareness Session, free eye camp,  awareness on nutrition Poshan Pakhwada, observing World Forest Day, a regional level awareness session on fire and safety, Cancer awareness sessions, participation in the campaign led by Energy Management Centre, Kerala,   just name a few .

Vidya NSS Team received four State Awards recently , Best Unit 2019-20, Best Programme Officer 2019-20 Anil M (Asst Prof, ECE Dept), Best NSS Volunteer 2019-20 (Nirmal Bino,  2017-21 Batch, ECE Dept), Best NSS Volunteer 2018-19 (Sreehari A M , 2016-20 Batch, EEE Dept)

Vidya promoted the  special demand to the youth as it provides unique opportunities to the students for group living, and more than 1000  school students from all over Kerala attended Special Training Programme during the year 2022.

It is with great pride and honor that, we receive  the news that, our student Tarun Kumar P (NSS Volunteer Secretary, S5, EEE Dept) got selected to attend Republic Day (RD) Parade Camp 2023 as part of the NSS contingent to represent Kerala .
Sports

Manu T S (S4, B Tech ME)  won  Gold Medals in Kerala College Games 2022. Adarsh K P (S7, CE Dept), Joel Joseph (S7, CE Dept), Abijith E(S3, CSE Dept) and Ima T S (S1, CSE Dept) got selected to represent APJAKTU Kabaddi Team in the South India Inter University Championship. Johan T Deepak (S3, CSE Dept)  represented Kerala in the National Shooting Championship. Abhishek Sathian (S7, CE Dept)  is selected to represent APJAKTU Table Tennis Team in the South India Inter University Championship. Ayoob A Zainudheen (M Tech SE) Alex Sabu (EEE S1) and  Niyatha Santhosh (ECE S7) selected to represent APJ AKTU Kho Kho team to participate in the South India Inter University Championship. Vaishak O (ECE S7), Roshan P S (ME S5) selected to represent APJ AKTU Football team in the south India Inter University Football championship.

Vidya student Suryajit Sudheeran (S5, CSE Dept) served as an International Volunteer for FIFA World Cup 2022 at Qatar.
Vidya Talent Center (VTC) 

Vidya Talent Center (VTC)  that transformed innovative ideas from concept to reality has helped  the campus remain relevant in both academia and the marketplace by signing  MoU with Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute of Medical Sciences.
Vidya Social Empowerment Center (VSEC)

With different socially committed activities, Vidya students also cultivates a sense of social responsibility among younger mind by conductng different programs to the needy students.  Vidya Social Empowerment Center (VSEC) always tries to bring out the best version  of the students by providing them the best platform to showcase their talents as Resource Persons in some of the internal and external talks, six-day Empowerment Programme for  6th to 12th standards school students, Grama Panchayat Visits, Vidya Science Talent Test for meritotious School Students, Student  Internship Program, Motivation Class to the students of  neighbouring  schools, Training Program Training of Trainers’, workshop on ‘Mentoring the Mentors etc
The strength of PhD holders have increased in leaps and bounds in the past few years in Vidya and the year 2022  presented 6 PhD holders (Dr  Sunitha C (HoD,  AIML Dept), Dr Reji C Joy (HoD, MCA Dept),  Dr Anjali P Sasidharan (Asst  Prof, CE Dept) , Dr  Bhavin K Bharath (Asst  Prof, ME Dept) , Dr Vibin Antony P (Asst  Prof, ME Dept)  Dr Nisha A B (Asst  Prof, AS Dept) who  equipped themselves  with the academic  skills and additional qualifications and secured hard-earned Doctorate Degree.
Good-will Ambassadors of  Vidya : Proud Alumni

Good-will ambassadors of Vidya have always shown an outstanding legacy of magnanimity, to uphold the traditions and for the benefit of our students and alma mater. Vidya’s alumnus Mr Anilkumar P S ( 2003-07 Batch, CSE Dept) is the latest entrant in the stream by sponsoring  a full fee scholarship which funds a needy student for academic programme in Vidya. The earnest and successful efforts of EEE alumni towards bringing ‘ROOTS’, the much accepted  scholarship scheme,instituted by the Alumni of the EEE Dept motivated others to build more such milestones.  Aiswarya Sivadas (2017-21 Batch, ECE Dept), with Chief Minister’s Student Talent Award, Mr Nithin Eluvathingal (2003-07 Batch, EEE Dept) with Cisco IT Blog Award 2021, appointment of Mr Jitin Jose (2014-18 Batch, EEE Dept) in Assam Rifles  along with some of the remarkable Musical and artistic ventures by Vidya’s alumni  made us proud in the last year .
