IEDC conducts Edu Mithra Indian Space Science Olympiad 2022 and Space Safari
Vidya provides opportunities to empower the students and helps in building self-confidence and motivates them to excel in their chosen field and make them curious towards science.
M/s Edu Mithra is an organization constantly working to develop young students intellectually to nurture their thirst for the knowledge. To showcase the skills of young geniuses of India and to develop their passion for space science and technology, Edu Mithra conducted a nationwide quiz competition christened Indian Space Science Olympiad (ISSO) 2022 and Space Safari for school students from classes 5 to 12.
The final selection process which was comprised of 3 days Offline Space Science Workshop and an offline exam was held in Vidya during 27-29 December 2022 under the auspices of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Center (IEDC). The participants got a lifetime experience while interacting with great Space Science Scientists and subject experts and actively involved in different sessions like seminars,presentations etc.
Dr N Shaji, Dr Jijo P Ulahannan, Mr T M Manosh, Mr Sarath Prabhav and Mr S Anurag handled the sessions in the residential camp. Based on the Offline exam, top 3 students (from junior, senior, super senior category), Kimaya Anoop More (Maharashtra), Aaryanaj Mohanty (Oddisha), Arpit Akshay Kottoor (Maharashtra) emerged as winners and received Newtonian Parabolic Mirror Telescope as prize. All other students received Medal and Certificate of Excellence. The prize distribution ceremony was held on 29 December 2022 in the college auditorium, Dr B Simon ( ISRO Scientist), Dr Saji C B (Principal, VAST), Mr Saneesh C K ( Managing Director, Edu Mithra), Mr Methil Komalankutty, E S, Ms Unnimaya and Mr Sarath Prabhav spoke on the occasion.
The event was co-ordinated by Mr Anil M (IEDC Nodal Officer and Asst Prof, ECE Dept) with the support of IEDC student volunteers Vinay Soman (S7, EEE Dept ), Abhishek S Nair (S5, EEE Dept) Krishnadev N (S5, ME Dept) and Jeeva H M (S5, ECE Dept).
