CSE Dept organizes workshop on “Introduction to Data Science for Engineers using Python”

The CSE Dept realizes the fact that in the current scenario, the enormousness of data is on the rise, and as a result, desperate need for professionals with appropriate data science skills will be an added advantage for a better and competitive career.

To lookout for methods and to provide valuable insights into Data Science, the Dept of CSE, organized a one day workshop christened “Introduction to Data Science for Engineers using Python” on 24 January 2023 for Diploma students.

The workshop mainly focused on introduction to the basics of Data Science. The workshop was organized to provide hands on experience on Data Science using Python and to impart idea about infosys certification on Python for Data Science to the final year diploma students from various polytechnic colleges. More than 40 students registered from different polytechnics like GPTC Chelakkara, WPT Nedupuzha, SSMPT Tirur and MTI Thrissur. The session was handled by Dr Ramani Bai V  (HoD, CSE Dept)  and Ms Thulasi Rajan K (Asst Prof, CSE Dept)

The Inauguration was organized at 10.00 am on 24  January  2023 at Advanced Computer Lab. Dr Ramani Bai V (Prof & Head, CSE Dept ) welcomed all dignitaries and participants. Dr. Saji C B (Principal) inaugurated the workshop and delivered inaugural and presidential address. Dr. Ramani Bai V gave a brief overview of the workshop. Neha Baju (S5 B.Tech, CSE) shared her experience at Vidya. Ms Lalini K U (TI, CSE and Co-ordinator of Workshop) delivered the vote of thanks.

The topics, Introduction to Python Programming and Data Science were well handled during the session. Finally  Dr Ramani Bai V  (HoD, CSE Dept) made a detailed session on Infosys Certification.

After the workshop,  a feedback session was also arranged in which  Students  expressed positive momentum  that they have  marked positive responses about the workshop. Dr Ramani Bai V presented a memento to Thulasi Rajan K and Thulasi Rajan K presented a Memento to Dr Ramani Bai V. The participants were awarded with e-certificate for their participation.
