Annual Athletic Meet 2023
The 16th edition Annual Athletic Meet of Vidya Academy of Science & Technology was held on 9 – 10 March 2023. The meet targeted the wholesome development of the students both physically and intellectually by means of organizing and participating in the events. The event was a great success in terms of participation and organization.
Inaugural Ceremony
The Inaugural function commenced with the hoisting of the College Flag by Dr.Saji C B (Principal) in the presence of invited guests, Heads of Depts, members of faculty & students. Then started the ‘March Past’ of athletes and the receipt of ‘Salute’ by the Principal followed by Inaugural address and declaration of meet open. Sri. Manoj Chalakkal (President, PTA) felicitated the function. Principal handed over the Torch to Mr.Roshan P S (Member, Kerala Technological University Football team) for the commencement of torch relay. He was followed by 14 University team members who represented the APJ AKTU in All India/ South India Inter University Championships. Mr.Adarsh P S light the “Annual Athletic Flame”. Mr. HrithikSukumaran, Captain College Kabaddi team which won APJ AKTU Title led the March Past and took the ‘Oath’ on behalf of all the Athletes gathered. The University team members were honoured in the function by Principal, PTA President and Head of Departments. The Department of Civil Engineering attained the best performance trophy instituted for ‘March Past’.
Competitions
Nine individual events and two relays were held in both Men& Women section and a total 670 registrations were received and 560 students participations reported in the two days event.
Individual Champion
Mr. Abin Babu (EEE Dept), Mr.Adarsh K P (CE Dept)), Miss Vishnu Preema (ECE Dept)), Miss Jincy P J (ECE Dept))were adjudged the position of ‘Individual Champions’ by securing 2 Individual gold medals.
