NSS volunteers shower golden rays of Onam on children with special needs

To celebrate diversity and uniqueness of individuals, Vidya NSS volunteers conducted Onam celebration at Thalir Buds Rehabilitation Center, Velur on 25 August 2023.

Celebration started with Pookkalam prepared by NSS volunteers and the students of Buds Rehabilitation Center.The day filled with music, dance and various entertainment activities.Mr T R Shobi (Velur Gram Panchayat President) inaugurated the celebration.The programmes were the dedicated efforts of NSS volunteers who came together to spread awareness and sensitivity and augment support for an inclusive platform like Thalir Buds Rehabilitation Center. NSS Programme Officers, Mr Rajesh S K (Asso Prof, EEE Dept), Ms Sarika K T (Asst Prof, ECE Dept) attended the program. 

The differently abled students got the opportunity to socialize with everyone by various activities arranged by NSS volunteers. The parents were also involved in the celebration by participating in the games. Lunch was also served for students and staff members at Thalir Buds Rehabilitation Center by the NSS team.The event was conducted under the guidance of the NSS Programme Officers, Mr Rajesh S K (Asso Prof, EEE Dept), Ms Sarika K T (Asst Prof, ECE Dept), Mr Ranjith E R (Asst Prof, ME Dept) and Ms Chithra M(Asst Prof, CE Dept) along with keen support from the entire NSS volunteers.
