Universities abroad are offering a host of niche courses especially in the emerging technologies for Post-Graduation studies both for degree and diploma courses. Across the country the young generation is very keen to equip themselves in these emerging domains and are aspiring to arm themselves with degrees or diplomas from top universities. Several universities support students by allowing them to work part-time and thereby support their studies. Top destinations include Canada, Australia, and Germany, besides the USA, UK, and Ireland etc. Of late the East European and Scandinavian nations are becoming prime destinations.
An awareness session about higher studies aboard and opportunities after completing PG courses aboard was provided to the final year students of the B. Tech program who are graduating in 2024. Ms. Nicy Binu, Director, Santa Monica addressed the final year students on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at the main auditorium, Pranavam. The two hour session which began at 11:00 am provided a gist of the process involved and touched upon all aspects of the process involved in gaining admissions for studies aboard. Ms. Nicy provided a concise overview of the elements involved. The process involves activities like course selection, application processing, language preparation and certification, VISA processing, scholarship assistance, foreign exchange and loan assistance, flight ticketing and accommodation, pre-departure assistance, airport pick-up / drop, and relocation services etc. She also shared a brief about the nuances of each country and country specific nature of courses, importance of a particular country, country specific part-time working rules, residency provision, etc.
469 final year B. Tech students attended workshop. After the main discourse, Ms. Nicy addressed the queries from the students. She also provided a quick overview about the various certifications like IELTS, PTE, TOFEL, and about exams like GRE, GMAT, and SAT.
