Vidya signs MoU with Cherpu Block Panchayath
Vidya realizes provision of appropriate assistance and assistive devices is one of the first steps in the process of rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities.
Cherpu Block Panchayath signed the MoU between Cherpu Block Panchayath and two Departments of Vidya on 05 February 2024.Department of Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning and Electrical & Electronics Engineering are two Departments involved in the MoU signing.
The opportunity came to Vidya under the leadership of Dr. Sudha Balagopalan (Dean Academics ). Cherpu block Panchayath aims to make it a friendly Block Panchayath for differently abled people. As part of the project the Panchayath wishes to ensure the active involvement of differently abled people in various sectors of public places. The Panchayath had conducted an elaborate survey to collect the details of differently able people.
The MoU signing ceremony took places at the Cherpu Block Panchayath premises Dr. Sudha Blagopalan, (Dean Academics), Dr. Sunitha C (Vice Principal & (HoD, AIML Dept)Dr. Mary P Varghese (Prof & HoD EEE Dept) Ms. Neenu Thomas (Asst Prof, EEE Dept) represented Vidya in the MoU signing ceremony.The MoU aims in assisting the excellent initiative by Cherpu Block Panchayath. It will inculcate an empathetical nature among the students since the project aims in assisting differently abled people. It will be also be helping the students in gaining hands-on experience in real time projects.
Vidya extended whole hearted support to the Panchayath by developing a software and there by entering the collected data and consolidating the same. The process will help the Panchayath in making the data available on finger tips. The MoU was signed as a collaboration between the Panchayath and Vidya .
Mr. A K Radhakrishnan (Cherpu Block Panchayath President), delivered the welcome address. Vice President Ms. Sofy Francis, Chairperson- welfare Depatment, Ms. Haseena Akbar, Secretary Mr. C K Sangeeth, Mr. Sunilkumar, Ms. Geetha, Ms Anitha, ( Panchayth Members) , Ms. Preetha, CPDO spoke during the program. Dr. Sudha Balagopalan (Dean Academics) offered all the possible support for the MoU.
