Annual General Meeting 2024 : a resounding success with renewed vision and commitment to the excellence and growth of AVA

A perfect venue for the active engagement in discussions and decision-making practice that reflected a well-built assurance to the alma mater !!! Annual General Meeting 2024 hosted by Association of Vidya Alumni (AVA) marked a momentous day for the alumni community on 17 August 2024.The function started with alumni planting saplings in the college to create awareness about the importance of tree plantation
The ceremony was inaugurated by Dr Sudha Balagopalan (former Dean Academics). In her inaugural address,Dr Sudha highlighted the various activities and support that have been extended by AVA to maintain a bridge between current students and alumni to face the present challenges of competitive trained world.Dr Sudha also recollected various scholarships programs instituted by Alumni in all the departments. Employment opportunity, training, mentorship that have been provided by Alumni were well appreciated by Dr Sudha.
Mr Ajin Aravind (Vice President, AVA) welcomed the gathering. Dr Sunitha C (Principal, President AVA) delivered the keynote speech. Dr Sunitha urged to reconnect, and strengthen professional networks and budding needs of the alumni groups.
The first batch of ECE (2003-2007) under the patronage Association of Vidya ECE alumni (AVEA) instituted scholarships Rs.25000/- per semester. Dr Jeeva K A (Mentor, Scholarship Committee 2003-2007 Batch, HoD, AIML Dept) who served as a former Professor in ECE Dept and the group tutor of (2003-2007 batch) presented the scholarship to Benita B B (S3,ECE Dept) and Angel Maria (S3,ECE Dept) .
AVA website https://vidyaalmnet.org/ are also helping to advance and collaborate where alumni can self-register and continue to assess advanced activities. Ms Fetsy K Francis (Secretary, AVA, Asst Prof, ECE Dept) presented the Annual Report. The Financial Report was presented by Ms Chitra M (Treasurer, AVA, Asst Prof, CE Dept). Subsequently the conclusion of tenure period, the list of new executive Committee members was presented. Ms Sheeja G (Executive Committee Member Asst Prof, EEE Dept) proposed vote of thanks.
