Hearty congratulation to vidya students on receiving ‘NASA International Space Apps Challenge Award 2024’
The NASA International Space Apps Challenge 2024,a Hackathon for coders, scientists, designers, storytellers, makers, technologists, and innovators around the world to come together and use open data from NASA and its Space Agency Partners to create solutions to challenges we face on Earth and in space was held during 5-6 October 2024 that brought together participants to tackle challenges related to Earth and space using NASA’s open data. The event was held at Jyothi Engineering College, Cheruthuruthi and witnessed an impressive 4,205 participants, marking it as one of the largest local editions worldwide. The Vidya IEDC team, Solar Hex, comprising six talented S5 ECE Department students, winning the “Galactic Problem Solver” award. This honor places them among the top 10 teams in this year’s challenge. The team Solar Hex consisting of (Alen M A (S5 ECE Dept),Adwaith E S (S5 ECE Dept),Afla C V (S5 ECE Dept),Aswin C T S (S5 ECE Dept),Aman Joju (S5 ECE Dept), Aleena Varghese (S5 ECE Dept) nailed the challenge among the best 10 teams.The team’s remarkable success was supported by Mr Anil M (IEDC Nodal Officer and Asst Prof, ECE Dept). The award presentation was held on 24 October 202 at Sahitya Academy, Thrissur.Dr Jose P Therattil (Principal, Jyothi Engineering College, Cheruthuruthi) presented the award.His esteemed presence of Dr Aswin Sekhar (Astrophysicist, Recipient of IAU honour Minor Planet ‘33928 Aswinsekhar’) as Chief Guest, added significance to the event. This achievement is a testament to the innovation, teamwork and technical skills demonstrated by the Solar Hex team. The recognition at the NASA Space Apps Challenge 2024 underscores the potential of Indian students to solve international confronts. It serves as an inspiration for the next generation of innovators and positions Vidya IEDC as a hub for groundbreaking ideas.
