NSS Units host successful Eye Testing Camp with Dr Rani Menon Maxivision Eye Hospital

The NSS units of Vidya have been conducting several  awareness programs  about eye health, diagnose potential eye conditions with necessary consultations and treatment options .

Vidya NSS units are dedicated in promoting health awareness and well-being among students and staff. As part of this commitment, the NSS units, in collaboration with Dr Rani Menon Maxivision Eye Hospital, organized a comprehensive Eye Testing Camp on 31 January 2025.

The initiative focused on ensuring the well-being of students, faculty, and staff by providing advanced diagnostic services and spreading awareness about eye care.

The camp was held at Vidya from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM and served 180 participants,

Special Features of the Eye Examination:

• Retina and cataract diagnosis: Advanced diagnostic tests to detect early signs of these common eye conditions.
• LASIK treatment tests: Evaluation for LASIK surgery, offering a chance to eliminate the need for glasses.
• Family Health Privilege Card: Participants received a card offering free consultation for 2 months, encouraging long-term eye care.
• Glaucoma diagnosis: Screening for this serious eye condition, which can lead to blindness if untreated.

The session was organized and executed under the leadership of the NSS Volunteer Secretaries, including Aswathy E S (S6,  CSE Dept), Mrithyunjay R (S6, EEE Dept), Nistal K Paul (S6, ME Dept), DevikaMothilal (S6, ECE Dept), Obadh Jose (S6,  ME Dept), Ardra Shanmughan (S6,  EEE Dept), Aruna R Menon (S6, CSE Dept) and Adarsh N A (S6, ME Dept). Their dedication and teamwork ensured the smooth execution of the camp.

The NSS programme officers, including Mr Rajesh S K (NSS Program Officer,  Asso Prof, EEE Dept), Mr Ranjith E R ((NSS Program Officer,  Asst Prof, ME Dept), Ms. Delmy David V (NSS Program Officer,  Asst Prof, CSE Dept) and Ms.Anu Maria Antony (NSS Program Officer, Asst Prof, CE Dept) played a pivotal role in guiding and motivating the volunteers, ensuring the camp was well-structured and impactful..

The Eye Testing Camp was a well-organized and impactful health initiative. The innovative diagnostic services, structured planning, and strong participation contributed to its overwhelming success.
