CE  students gain industry insights through Industrial Visit

The  civil engineering department provided final yearstudents with a comprehensive learning experience by integrating technical visits, cultural exploration, and adventure activities at their industrial visit  held during 17 – 23 February 2025. The tour covered destinations such as Dandeli, Goa, Udupi, and Gokarna, with key industrial visits to Global Engineering and Construction Works in Dandeli and Pradeep Enterprises, a packaged drinking water industry in Karnataka. These visits offered insights into large-scale infrastructure development and water purification processes. Additionally, students explored historical landmarks, engaged in adventure sports, and strengthened their teamwork and leadership skills.

The journey began with an overnight train ride from Thrissur to Mangalore, followed by a bus trip to Dandeli. The itinerary included water sports at Laguna Water Sports, an industrial visit to Global Engineering and Construction Works, and cultural sightseeing in Goa, where students explored Aguada Fort, Chapora Fort, and various beaches. The group also visited Gokarna, where they experienced the serene beaches and religious sites, and Udupi, where they explored St. Mary’s Island and the famous Sri Krishna Temple. The visit to Pradeep Enterprises provided valuable knowledge about water purification and quality control measures, highlighting sustainability challenges in the industry.Ms Ponsy Paul (Asst Prof, CE Dept) and Ms Gloria Anto (Asst Prof, CE Dept) led the visit .

The trip was a well-rounded experience, blending technical education with cultural enrichment and adventure. The industrial visits provided real-world exposure to civil engineering and industrial operations,while sightseeing and recreational activities enhanced students’ understanding of historical and natural heritage. The combination of learning, exploration, and team bonding made this tour an invaluable opportunity for both professional and personal growth, ensuring that participants gained practical knowledge, industry insights, and unforgettable experiences.
