IEDC hosts the SIH Internal Hackathon 2025
The Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Centre (IEDC) nurtures student leaders to showcase their technical expertise, creativity, and problem-solving skills by providing platforms.
Vidya Academy of Science and Technology, in collaboration with Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Centre (IEDC), hosted SIH Internal Hackathon 2025 during 9–10 September 2025.
A total of 270 students from various departments formed 45 high-energy teams that engaged in a 24-hour hybrid hackathon, blending both online and offline collaboration.
The hackathon commenced on 09 September 2025 with project initiation between 2:30 PM and 4:00 PM, followed by overnight online development. On September 10, the event resumed in offline mode, culminating in final presentations before a distinguished panel of judges, including Dr. Sanaj M. S (Prof, CSE Dept), Dr. Abitha (Asso Prof, ECE Dept),Dr. Dijesh P (Asso Prof, CSE Dept),Dr Jensy Babu (Asso Prof, CSE Dept),Ms. Mithu Varghese (Asst Prof, CSE Dept), Ms. Anjana B. (Asst Prof, CSE Dept), Ms. Manjusha P. D (Asst Prof, AIML Dept), Ms. Biyanka Thomas (Asst Prof, AIML Dept) and Ms. Sheeja G. (Asst Prof,EEE Dept). Projects were evaluated for novelty, creativity, feasibility, and potential impact.
Problem statements were drawn from the official Smart India Hackathon (SIH) repository, covering domains such as women’s safety, agriculture, tourism, healthcare, education, transportation, disaster management, clean and green technologies, and smart automation. Teams proposed innovative solutions including smart security systems for women, AI-driven agricultural tools, digital platforms for tourism, and technology-driven approaches for healthcare, sustainability, and education.
The hybrid format encouraged adaptability and collaboration, underscoring Vidya’s commitment to nurturing innovation and entrepreneurial thinking among its students.
