Orientation session for parents by VSEC

Vidya Academy of Science and Technology (VSEC) emphasizes the importance of healthy bonding, effective communication, and mutual understanding between parents and children to foster holistic development by conducting various activities.

The Moulding Wing of Vidya Academy of Science and Technology (VSEC) organized a Parents’ Orientation Session on 15 November 2025 for the parents of scholarship students. The session was designed to address contemporary challenges in parent–child relationships and to emphasize the significance of healthy bonding for the overall development of students.

The program, conducted for one and a half hours, witnessed enthusiastic participation from the parents. It was led by Mr. Alex Chacko (Ph.D. Scholar at Government Engineering College (GEC), Thrissur, former Asst Prof, ME Dept, VSEC staff member). Mr. Alex addressed several present-day issues in parent–child interactions, focusing on academic pressure, emotional well-being, and generational gaps. Using real-life examples, he made the discussion highly relatable and engaging. He also provided practical strategies for improving communication, fostering trust, and strengthening mutual understanding between parents and children.

The session commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Siju K. C (Head, VSEC and Asso. Prof, AS Dept), who extended a warm welcome to both the resource person and the participants. The event was co-ordinated efficiently by Ms. Akhila R (Asst Prof – Sr Grade, EEE  Dept) who also delivered the vote of thanks at the conclusion of the program.

An interactive discussion followed the presentation, during which parents actively shared their thoughts, concerns, and experiences. The session received excellent feedback from the participants, who appreciated the relevance, clarity, and practical insights of the discussion.

Overall, the program was a resounding success, effectively achieving its objectives and proving highly beneficial for all participants.
