EEE department achieves new research milestone with recent IJRES publication

Vidya’s faculty and students advance national and international scientific research through skill development, innovation, and strategic partnerships.

The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering  has added another academic achievement to its portfolio with the publication of a research paper titled “Automatic Car Parking Valet” in the International Journal of Research in Engineering & Science (IJRES) (ISSN: 2572-4274).

The research was carried out by Devika E R (S8, EEE Dept), Adharsh P R (S8, EEE Dept), Pranav P M (S8, EEE Dept), Shahaana P P (S8, EEE Dept) under the guidance of Ms. Akhila R (Asst Prof – Sr Grade, EEE  Dept) and Dr. Neenu Thomas (Asso Prof, EEE  Dept)

The published work presents the design and implementation of an automated vehicle parking and retrieval system that utilizes robotic movement to maximize parking space utilization while enhancing user convenience. The proposed system intelligently detects and assigns vacant parking slots, significantly reducing the time required for drivers to locate available parking spaces.

A key feature of the system is the integration of Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology, enabling secure and seamless vehicle retrieval through RFID-based user authentication. Designed for constrained parking environments, the solution provides a safe, compact, and efficient alternative to conventional parking systems by accommodating more vehicles within the same physical area.

The research contributes to the advancement of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) by demonstrating an innovative approach to smart parking through robotics, automation, and intelligent vehicle management. The study highlights the growing role of automation in addressing urban parking challenges while improving operational efficiency and user experience.

The paper was published on 15 March 2026 with Paper ID: IJRES-69B54CEE4DFFC and DOI: 10.26808/RS.2026.bd6f0c, appearing on pages 7/1–7/6.

The Editorial Team of News & Events, along with the entire Vidya fraternity, extends hearty congratulations to  Ms Akhila,  Dr Neenu, Devika, Adharsh, Pranav and Shahaana  on this commendable publication that  contribute to the national and international scientific community through innovative research, skill development and strategic academic initiatives !!!
